Tips to Obtain a Higher Selling Price
Help Your Home Sell Faster!
1. The front door is the first thing the
prospect sees. Make sure it is fresh, clean and scrubbed-looking. Make sure the
doorbell works! Keep the lawn trimmed, the leaves raked, the snow neatly shoveled.
2. Faded walls and worn woodwork reduce
appeal. Why try to tell a prospect how good your home could look? When
selling, one of the single best investments you can make, is in a clean, fresh, neutral
paint job!
3. Open the drapes, turn on the lights, turn
off the TV and stereo. Let the prospect see how bright, warm and peaceful your home
can be! (Dark rooms are unappealing.)
4. Fix those dripping faucets! Discoloured sinks
and leaky taps indicate plumbing past its prime!
5. Minor repairs can make a major difference!
Loose knobs, sticking doors, broken window panes, warped cabinet drawers detract from a
good impression. Fix them!
6. Display the full value and size of your home by
removing all unnecessary articles. The cluttered look suggests the place is small!
7. Keep stairways clear of everything! Enough
said.
8. People will open your closet doors.
Keep them neat - that way they look adequate!
9. Bathrooms help sell homes. Check, clean, and
if necessary, replace the grout joints in the tub and shower enclosures. Make this
room sparkle!
10. Pets and children are best kept out of the way when
possible, in the case of pets, out of the house.
11. When a prospect arrives, be polite in your greeting
then become invisible. Let the agent do his / her job. This is not a social
call, after all.
